*Sad Face* Saturday....

Not too much to report except that today I'm going out with my close girlfriend here for a pedi/lunch day. She's leaving in about a week...moving away, and I am beyond sad about it. I don't have too many friends here and no family and we have become very close over the last several months. She's even my neighbor. Once in awhile you really get the chance to just hit it off with someone so well! And I have...and now she's leaving. Ugh, so sad. So the hubby is sending me off for some quality bonding time. Making friends in new places is one of those sucky things about being a military family and not being in the place where your family is or where you grew up. So you gotta make your own. I know I'll never find someone that i clicked so well with so immediately and it continued you on that's to hoping!!

Mil-Spouse Friday Fill-In #28 and A Year Ago Today....

Before I begin my fill-in, please check out my giveaway page above! I'm running a great giveaway for Zippy Doo's, which is a great kids product. This is only third giveaway and I need to get it going here!! Anyway, enough of my shameless plug...on with the best part...Thanks to Wife of a Sailor for another great set of questions!

Stop by my forum that I host with some other great girls - Love and Dog Tags

  1. If you were a famous movie star, what types of movies would you star in?
I would probably star in either Romantic Comedy's, Musical or Dance Movies and maybe the Hitchcock-style of movie...real actual suspense without all the annoying gore

2. What is a vacation you would like to take if money were no object?

I would want to go to Europe and do like a two or three week tour of a bunch of countries and really do it right

3. Did you have pets growing up?

I had a dog when I was real little, then we had another dog, which ended up having special needs so we had to give here away *tear*, and then we had brother/sister cats :)

4. What do you do for exercise?

Right now I'm on my second round of p90x and loving it. its one of the only work out programs that you can do at home that I've actually stuck with. I even canceled my gym membership!

5. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received as a MilSpouse?

Get used to change and don't sweat the small stuff. I don't know about you guys but man, sometimes I feel like in my husband's line of work things are always he is going to deploy, he isn't....he leaves - change of location, i will be able to call, i won't be able to call. Even at home - honey i'm working late, oh wait, i'm coming home early. I'm getting promoted, oh, i'm not....oh they are putting the paperwork through.....and it goes on and on and on, LOL!

Thursday Blog Hops

Now A Year Ago Today is actually a Thursday hop. I forgot to do it last night and its still technically thursday and I wanted to give a shout out to my girl Heather at Mommy Only Has Two Hands, because I love her and she's awesome!!!

I can't believe it's already been a year, but a year ago my husband was leaving for a deployment to heaven knows where...and when I did find out I couldn't tell anyone! It was crazy. It was the hardest one I've gone through. I think the kids were just at that right age, maybe more my son then my daughter. But he was fully aware of what was going on and he did not handle it well at all. I couldn't leave him anywhere. I remember taking him to Gymboree, and his sister and I go into one class and he goes into music class. I remember walking him into the teacher to explain to her what was going on and that he's been acting out a bit and he i looked down at him and he just burst into tears and said, "don't leave mommy." I started crying, oh heavens it was horrible. Wow, what a total growing experience for me. I was so exhausted I almost didn't really have time to miss him because I was so focused on the kids. Which, in retrospect was actually a good thing. But we survived and here we are!

I remember really like the game of Life

3. What is a word that you use all the time?
When I was like in 4th to 6th grade my neighbor friend and I were the biggest dorks ever. He and I would play power rangers...but I digress...we used to say "heeheehee pshhhhhhhhh" i have no idea, we were so lame! LOL

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Well, the week is starting over....mine actually began yesterday when the hubster went back to work, boo. I'm on my second week of p90x, my third week of my newest bible study and the hubby and I have started some devotions recently! We are going back to our small group this week and my best friend here is finally coming out of her sick coma so we can resume our SAHM coffee mornings! YAY!!! I also recently discovered that I get K-Love up here in the boonies. I never used to be able to get it and miraculously in the last week or so its been coming in. It couldn't have come at a better time really. The last six months have been really crazy. A lot of bad things have happened, I lost a lot of friendships and a few other things. I tend to dwell on the bad things and lose track of the good things. In this particular situation I really believe that a lot of it was out of my control. I've really been working on accepting responsibility for what I did contribute to the situation, but working past the unknown has really been a struggle for me. Some of the friendships...well frankly I'm not sure why they faded really. I thought they were strong, and maybe they weren't a maybe they were and then weren't....I don't really know. But I've been dwelling on this a lot....letting go without knowing what really happened. And short of calling them up and being like, "So what's the deal, I wanna know what's up," there's not too much else I can do.....So back to K-Love. As I've been dwelling on all these things, I swear that every time I turn the key the song, "You've been Remade," by Tenth Avenue North comes on. If you haven't heard the song here are the lyrics. They've really been speaking to me and I hope they do to you as well:

There's a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she's wandered
And the shame she can't hide

She says, "How did I get here?
I'm not who I once was.
And I'm crippled by the fear
That I've fallen too far to love"

But don't you know who you are,
What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

Well she tries to believe it
That she's been given new life
But she can't shake the feeling
That it's not true tonight

She knows all the answers
And she's rehearsed all the lines
And so she'll try to do better
But then she's too weak to try

But don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

'Cause this is not about what you've done,
But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

Sassy Sunday #4

Well after a long hiatus here we are again for Sassy Sunday!!! I felt like last year flew by so fast, and I remember as the year was ending just wishing things would slow down. Well this year really hasn't started off any different. I just feel like, "whoa, wait a second, its already the end of January?!" Is it just me? I don't know, maybe its because my kids are getting older. I just am almost done with completely potty training Ami. Man, I just don't know where the time has gone. I'm trying to drink in every moment, take a breathe, and take it all in. I feel like the days the hubby is off of work just fly by....before I know its midnight and we've been running around doing things and we haven't had a second to just sit down together and just take in the moment. A friend of mine posted something lovely today about how we get so focused on whatever it may be for you, New Year's Resolutions, or starting the new year off right or what not that all these things fly by that we might not have been looking for. I want to be open to those little things. I don't want to miss a single little thing......

Here's where I'm hopping today :)
