Christmas Bells are ringing.......

Well, there is no doubting that Christmas is on its way. I feel truly excited for this year. Brian is really excited and at the perfect age. He totally gets it, he's excited and he's been participating in every part with an enthusiasm only a child could have. Decorating the tree, hanging the lights, playing in the snow, watching Christmas movies, and listening to Christmas songs. My husband and I both worked jobs for many years that had the Muzack playing. You know, the recycled music with no commercials. Well, the day after Thanksgiving, as you well know, the Christmas music starts! Over and over again, every day the Christmas music...the same songs recycled......INSANITY WILL SOON FOLLOW. So, needless to say we usually do not switch our dials over to the radio station that is playing all Christmas music, all the time. But this year has been different. I've been changing over to that station for the kids. I find myself consciously thinking about traditions and all the things I want to do, do for my kids, have for my kids....things I want them to experience for Christmas, and the season in general. With every song that comes on they are excited. They scream it at me as we're driving along..."mom its a Christmas song!" "Mom, they are singing about Santa," "Mom, it's jingle bells," which by the way is every song with the jingle bell sound in it.

So, as we get ready to travel to our families this Christmas, I have my presents all packed up in my reusable Wal-Mart bags, my gingerbread and cookie sets ready, the kids clothes are packed, mine are ready to be put in the duffle bag and I'm busy racking my brain trying to decide if there is anything missing. I hope you all enjoy this holiday season. For us its Christmas, and more importantly, the true meaning of Christams. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ! I hope that in the end I've done my job as a parent, and not gotten too caught up in Christmas and presents, that I've stopped to really enstill the true meaning of Christmas in my children...with the help, of course, of my fisher price, Little People, Nativity Set.

Merry Christmas!!!

Children's Reviews

Hello all my bloggy friends...I'm seriously slacking on the blogging! The holidays are really putting up a fight this year! Hope this little something will make up for it!!

So I have two wonderful things that I was blessed to get the opportunity to review, and my children to help me review! Both opportunities came to me through Pitch it To Me, which has given me some great opportunities.

Review #1 is of an adorable book called Blooming Buddies, written by Deborah Donner and Wendy Peterson. I love kids books and my kids have about a million and one. It is a beautifully illustrated book, and that is really what my daughter loves about it. She's two and she listens to me read for sure, but its the pictures in this book that really get her attention. It is just a cute and fun thing for her to look at, with bright colors, which have definitely been a learning opportunity for her. Its a sweet story as well about flower friends. I won't give too much away, but I can guarantee your little girl will love this book.

I know I've discovered a winner when I go to check out their website and you find out that the book has received, not only, the Parent Tested, Parent Approved Seal of Approval for 2010, but also The National Parent Center Seal of Approval.

Check out what The National Parenting Center had to say about this book:

“This beautiful book of whimsical verse that conveys kind messages on topics like friendship, manners, politeness and caring, absolutely captured the hearts of our testers. Each and every reviewer noted the gorgeous illustrations which many felt could serve to inspire a budding artist or perhaps a trip to the nursery to start a springtime garden. Blooming Buddies is a superb introduction to poetry and is a wonderful way to bring new vocabulary to your child. You will want to read this book aloud and share its gift with your child often.”—National Parenting Center

There are also some added bonus on the website for your little ones. You can purchase sticker sets and prints for framing and decorating your child's room, straight out of the book. I am considering a fine art print for my daughters room when she gets her big girl bed next year.

I know that you will love this book. Go to the website, where you check out the inside of the book for yourself.

Review #2, was another great Pitch it To Me opportunity, and this time for my son!!! The Float 'N Firefly toothbrush by Dr. Fresh. Here is a little bit about Dr. Fresh, from their webpage, "Dr. Fresh, one of the fastest growing oral care companies in the U.S., is a multinational company with distribution in over 35 countries worldwide with major offices in London, UK and Schenzhen, China. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the company offers consumers over 250 quality and affordable personal care products. Innovation in new product development has been the foundation of the company’s steady growth and success. Dr. Fresh owns more patents than any other U.S. oral care company."

My son is all about teeth brushing and is a member of the "No Cavity" club at our dentist and proudly displays his cute little certificate. So cute. So I received this toothbrush and I love the way it is thicker at the bottom, right off the bat. It is easy for him to hold and manipulate. And even though I've never had a problem getting him to brush his teeth, the timer thing is a great feature in a toothbrush for a child. It lights up and the little animal and glitter that float around inside are super fun. He will sit and stare at it in the mirror as he's brushing. He really enjoys brushing his teeth with this toothbrush, and watching for the light to go off. And for a reasonable price, why not make teeth brushing fun! Check out the website for the maker and check out the website for the Firefly toothbrush , where you can find some fun things for the kids, including games. There is also a facebook page! You can purchase the firefly toothbrush online at places like and they are also available at many of your local retailers, including Big Lots, Dollar General, Target, Toys R Us and Walmart!

Sass Sunday #3

Welcome to Sassy Sunday number 3!! Yay!!! This week I'm going to combine it with this amazing post I found on Lyndzi's blog, Lil Mrs Housewife. Go check out Lyndzi's adorable and fun blog when you get a chance. With that said, on with the post.

10 Places I'd Like to Live for a Year!

1. Williamsburg, Jamestown, Richmond Area of Virginia

The thought of living really anywhere on the east coast, part of the 13 orignial colonies, type area, just makes my History buff husband and I drool :) One day hopefully we'll get the chance to live back east for at least a year.

2. Charleston, West Virginia Area

Country road, take me mom is from here and I've been there several times in my life and I love it. I love being there and I can't really fully describe it. Its a family joke that it's in my blood because I was conceived there when my mom and dad went back for one of her HS reunions. Kinda creepy, but hilarious ;)

3. San Antonio, Texas

My husband is in the Air Force, and all Air Force People "Cross into the Blue" through San Antonio, Texas. I immediately fell in love when I went there for his graduation from Boot Camp. I love the downtown area, the people were great, the food was good and I loved the military culture of the area. So I definitely could live here for a length of time.

4. London, England

Who wouldn't want to live here for awhile! The fashion, the food, the history (again, we are super lame history buffs). Definitely a fun place to live. It really doesn't need much more explanation than that :)

5. Seattle, Washington

Ever since I watched Sleepless in Seattle I've wanted to live there. I know, I know, it rains 9 months out of the year in Seattle, LOL....but it looked beautiful. I love the water and some people I've talked to tell me its like a small town in big city form :)

6. San Francisco, CA

This is a city that has always been near and dear to my heart. I've been here so many times in my life and it was basically ingrained into my head that it was the most fantastic city. I recently took a Victorian Homes Walking Tour (which I highly recommend to everyone) and fell in love even more!!!

7. Savannah, Georgia

This is a place that my husband and I visited during our annual business trips for the military. Yet again, another wonderful place full of history. To really understand how obsessed we are, we went on our honeymoon to Hawaii - which is very romantic indeed - and we sent most of our time visiting historical and culture sites. We loved the people, the landscape and the parks. The homes were beautiful and we had so much fun. We didn't get to see half the things we would have liked to have seen.

8. Chicago, Illinois (suburbs)

Chicago is a place that I have visited once, about 7 years ago. It was beautiful. I've always had a fascination with city living and Chicago and San Fran are some big cities I wouldn't mind living in. I could probably talk my hubby into either one. Mention New York to him and he goes into this is probably as close as I could get him.

9. Denver, Colorado

Aside from being history buffs, we enjoy the outdoors. I'm a newbie in the outdoorsie area, but my husband is an Eagle Scout, need I say more. We try to camp several times a year and I enjoy going on easy hikes with him. For our anniversary I gave him a day out to go on a big hike. So we would enjoy every second of living here I think, and exposing our children to all the outdoors has to offer.

10. Sydney, Australia

This is a hubby pick! Once he said it, i totally agree :) I know that I've always wanted to at least go here at some point, but living here for a year would be icing on the cake :)

11. Alaska

I know that I'm only supposed to do 10, but I couldn't resist throwing just one more in there. Alaska. It sort of falls into the same category as Denver. All the amazing things you would experience in Alaska! I would be excited to live there for at least a short while.

Now of course there are about 50 million other places that I could add to this list!!! So many things to do and places to see that I don't know if I could fit them all into one lifetime. But here's a little taste :) Now, onto the hop :)

Feature Friday #5

Hello all my bloggy followers!!! Its been too long since I've done a feature, but I am resurrecting the post today with an amazing showcase of one of bloggy pals, fellow SAHM and totally awesome crafty mom, Katy!!! So lets take a peak at KDbuggie Boutique.

I am a stay-at-home mom of a beautiful 3 year old daughter and a spirited 18 month old. They keep me totally busy!!! They are my best testers too... I think they cringe every time I bring out my sewing machine. I look to sewing and crafting as an outlet to my busy life. I am not only a mom, but a student, and an apartment manager. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and a passion for teaching and learning. I love blogging because it gives me an opportunity to learn new ideas and to fine tune my own as well!

I sew and craft when I can (usually nights, and naptimes) and absolutely LOVE it!!!! My ultimate goal is not to make a HUGE profit. Instead, I hope to share my handmade goodies with others and hopefully make something special for them and their family. I strive for functionality while still being stylish and try to keep the cost to my customers as low as I can. I buy in bulk when possible keeping prices lower than my competition.

I have recently taken up digital designing as a new hobby. I love being able to use my creative side to develop new invitations, baby announcements, thank you notecards, cupcake toppers, business cards... and much more! I am always adding more new things to my etsy store, so be sure to check back often.

I love so many of Katy's things and she actually allowed me to go on her site and pick out some of my favorites to share with you. So here they are!!!

It should be completely obvious why I love this first item. Now adays people are all about the hand-made stuff! Etsy is huge and almost everyone knows about it, browses it and has shopped it (or has a long list of what they want off of it - but don't we all) These make the perfect gift for mom's to be and she and her other guests will be talking about this one for sure!!

Second are these adorable invites! This is yet another thing you can find on Katy's site! She's got everything! Even invitations. This is only one of the cute designs, but I love this one! So cute!

And lastly this adorable blanket, that she has in so many patterns on her site. I love this one, its funky, modern and super cute. And with the soft chenille, you can't go wrong!

So please go and check out Kdbuggie Boutique on all her sites!!!

Just Another Manic Monday + Skin Peel Review!

Happy Monday everyone! I know, I know, Monday's aren't usually the happiest day of the week, but there's always a first time for everything. We had a pretty great weekend here so I'm hoping to carry on the positive attitude through the week! One way to do that is head on over to my newest obsession Coupon Clippin Daddy and pick up some awesome coupons!

And another way to do that is to review a fabulous product! I was so excited when I received the opportunity to review Skin-Peel from She Blogs! I was excited to review something that was for me, because the other things that I have reviewed were for my kids, and it was about time I was spoiled. I was given the opportunity to browse the website for Skin-Peel and choose a product that would be best suited for my skin type. I chose the Glycolic Acid Peel. The directions were extremely easy to follow and I was excited to start. I've been using the product for three weeks now and am extremely pleased. Using the product at a younger age I am hoping that it continues to be a preventative. I don't have any extremely noticeable skin issues so it is really hard to notice any significant improvements, like lessening lines and wrinkles. But what does jump out at me when I use this product is the softness of my skin. Just using a peel gets rid of all those dead layers of skin and gives you extremely soft skin. My husband has noticed it more than I have, but I think that's because we look at our skin all the time. One possible side affect of using the skin peel is some slight discomfort and redness based on the strength of peel you decide to use. I had absolutely no issues with this whatsoever and was able to continue to increase the time that the product is on my face.

I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking to improve the quality of their skin but doesn't have time to regularly go to a salon/spa, or for someone that doesn't have significant issues and feels that they don't really need to go to a dermatologist. I recommend you go to the website and just take a look around. There are so many before or after pictures of people with a wide variety of skin issues that have had a successful experience with Skin Peel! And as a special thank you for my followers Skin Peel is offering a discount on all orders until December 31st! Enter the discount code "SHEBLOGS" and you'll receive 20% off! Seriously?!! For a reasonably priced product 20% is a sweet deal! I really encourage you to give the product a try.

And after checking out Skin Peel check out where I'm hopping today!!
